Just One Person.Adding a third opsin gene doesn’t simply introduce 50 percent more colors its effect is multiplicative. Well, this is my first post and I hope I made it a little easier for. You've all seen The Muppet Movie, right? All the Muppets setting out on an adventure to follow their dreams, you know? Well, that could be what the voices represent, like how aventure calls sailors to the sea.Kermit hearing the voices is probably his heart letting him know that he needs to get up outta the swamp and start on his aventures. It's something that I'm supposed to be - My thoughts: I believe that the voices being heard are the sounds of adventure. Have you been half-asleep and have you heard voices? Soon, people started to follow the non-conforming and realized the beauty of dreaming outside of the lines. We know that it's probably magic - My thoughts: Everyone decides to conform to common beliefs. What's so amazing that keeps us star gazing Somebody thought of that and someone believed it The lovers, the dreamers, and me - My thoughts: Basically, Kermit knows to look beyond the rainbow and dream. Rainbows are visions, but only illusions,Īnd rainbows have nothing to hide - My thoughts: This is the answer for those who think too hard about every little thing and don't have fun with their imagination. Why are there so many songs about rainbows?Īnd what's on the other side? - My thoughts: This is an innocent question. And I've always wondered, ''Why ARE there so many songs about rainbows? What IS on the other side?'' Well, this is my theory: But seriously, this song has made me shed tears and sing from the heart on many occasions. My InterpretationYou know, there's something about the Muppets that just makes ya wanna stand up and scream ''YAAAAAAAY!'' and flail your little green arms around. Of course this song was sung by a muppet so who knows, but it is still pretty deep and a beautiful song. That dreaming is not real and we are told that dreams are not real, but dreams are as real as love (feelings) and somehow Kermit is connected to them (they are all related). What I think he is saying here is that he is destined to be a lover and a dreamer (in a sense like we all are.)Īnd that is what I think he is saying overall here. Kermit then says that he cannot ignore it, that it is real and not imaginary. As in, "the sailor heard his calling to sail the seas." I think he is talking about the voices sailors hear that calls them out to the pleasure of the sea. Now, you may think Kermit is referring to the muses who suckered sailors into their doom. He asks if the voice he hears is the same as the one that sailors hear. He says that it is like a spell and even though we know that it is just magic (has no basis in reality), we none the less still hope to see that shooting star and make our wish. Our dream is to be able to have what we want (make a wish) magically. We are hoping to see a shooting star and make a wish. He tells us that it "keeps us stargazing". Kermit then talks about how someone came up with the idea of wishing on a star and then asks what has it done so far? Then he tells us in a question. General CommentIn the begining he is saying that people think of rainbows as illusions, but Kermit the philosopher doesn't believe this. The lovers (the lovers), the dreamers (the dreamers) and me I've heard it too many times to ignore it Is this the sweet sound that calls the young sailors? What's so amazing that keeps us stargazing Who said that every wish would be heard and answered Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection So we've been told and some choose to believe it Why are there so many songs about rainbows
